DEMENTIA CARE CONSULTING

For 25 years I owned and operated two 6 bed care homes for the elderly specializing in dementia and hospice care. We worked with individuals living with dementia, and I learned a lot. It was that experience that taught me my passion for ensuring the highest quality of life for those losing their memory and often times, experiencing extreme behavioral changes. Today I offer my services not only as a therapist, but as a consultant and advocate for families learning how to care for, as well as be a voice for a loved one with less of a voice. Navigating the healthcare system, the behavioral changes, and grieving for the person we love simultaneous, is challenging at best.

Having had several family members with dementia, as well as loving non- family members afflicted, I have learned so much about the process, interventions, and how hard it is to love someone who changes seemingly daily.

Services I offer include home visits to teach families how to keep loved ones home and as safe as possible, for as long as possible. I provide education on behavioral interventions. I give guidance on when and where to place someone if a care facility is needed. As well as teach ,language for communicating with doctors and healthcare workers to maintain optimal health care.

Dementia is cruel. It is cruel to all it touches. Let me support you, guide you, and educate you on how to ease the suffering of the individual with dementia, and the people who love them.
